Here’s what our clients and associates are saying about us:
Please read our latest testimonial from one of Canada’s leading restoration architects:
“I am writing this letter to express my appreciation of your work at 26 Ontario Street. As we are all aware, this was a difficult project. The building had many serious structural issues. The program of use of the building was changed late in the process, involving hurried changes to drawings and the scope of work.
In the face of all challenges of this project, your firm has demonstrated your ability to undertake the work with skill and imaginative practical solutions to problems. These efforts saved the owners considerable cost extras as well as saving time. Discussions prior to production of drawings saved considerable time.
There are few contractors I know, either in Port Hope or Toronto, who would have the skill to undertake this difficult project. This has been very helpful to me. Your willingness to discuss options and ideas was welcome. I also appreciate your ethic of reusing materials. This is very apropos behaviour in this new ‘green’ world.
Thank you again for your skill and efforts in this project. Without you, this project would not have been completed in the time and for the budget available.”
Sincerely,
Phillip H. Carter (Architect), Phillip H. Carter Architects M.Arch., M.C./P., FRAIC, OAA, CAHP
“Rob and his team did an incredible job renovating my new law office. I wanted a stylish space with an emphasis on retaining as much of the original and exposed elements of the building and incorporating reused and re-purposed materials, as possible. Rob and his team really delivered exactly what I wanted in an incredibly tight time frame.
Rob is a true collaborator. Rob really listened to what I wanted and made excellent suggestions as to how to better achieve my ideas. He is thoughtful and creative and managed the project with an eye to efficiency and cost-effectiveness. From the custom staircase down to the smallest details, the overall product is hip, functional, and beautiful.
I cannot speak highly enough of Rob’s team. At all times they were friendly, helpful and dynamic. Despite various obstacles, the entire team remained committed to getting me into my space on time. I am truly grateful to all that Rob and his team did on this project. I simply love it.”
Jason Schmidt, Schmidt Law Legal Services
“Rob, and his crew were a pleasure to work with on what turned out to be a complicated and lengthy restoration. They understood the vision, had the skills to execute it, and put their hearts into all they did.”
Anne-Marie Burrus, Mill Valley School
“It’s always a challenge for an architect to find a contractor who can execute his vision. When I moved to Port Hope eight years ago, I was very fortunate in meeting just such a contractor in Rob Green of Green Brothers Construction. Rob’s practice, like my own, focuses on traditional residential architecture. He understands heritage design & detailing, and he has both the personal skills and the equally talented trades to bring such projects to life. These skills, combined with his extensive knowledge of the latest construction and energy technologies, make Rob an ideal choice when I’m looking for a contractor. I expect we’ll create many more spectacular projects together in the coming years.”
Chris Wallace, Architect, Port Hope
“Working with Green Bros. was as ‘painless’ as it could be! Rob always welcomed us on the job site and made us feel we were a ‘partner’ in the construction. Nothing was too much trouble to do what we required in the most perfect way possible. Rob and his crew always ensured that what we wanted was what we got!”
Robyn & Bradley Jacobson
“Rob has a clear understanding of how to do things properly without being extravagant. He listens well.”
Bruce Smith, Port Hope
“Rob is delightful—he has a good eye for details—things just have to match, and his price is always fair. He’s trustworthy with great workers and he keeps a good eye on them. At the end of every day, they clean up!”
Francis Blake, Bailieboro
“We found Rob to be helpful and easy to speak with. He made us feel at ease. He was very open when communicating and addressed concerns promptly. Went above and beyond—he really spent extra effort to match up our addition with the existing house.”
Steve Patterson, Port Hope
“I chose Green Bros. because of the quality of workmanship and trust—I had no worries about leaving my home in the hands of workmen to go out. They went beyond expectations with a few extras—they even helped me move furniture in without my even asking! I found Green Bros. trustworthy and with extreme attention to detail. I’d recommend them.”
Colin Pearo, Cobourg
“Rob Green was able to recognize what we wanted and had good ideas for our cabinets. He was good on estimate —came in on price and was consistent with what he proposed to do.”
Bob Anglin, Port Hope
“I was first impressed with the quality of work I’d seen at his cottage. I was impressed with his green methods and experience. He has absolute dedication to quality. Nobody has the same ethical approach—he goes beyond the norm. He bends over backward to make clients happy—he really will not leave the site until the customer is happy. If you are looking for someone who brings quality and integrity as well as top workmanship to the job, there is no one else to recommend.”
Liz Rand, Peterborough
“Green Bros. has the ability to achieve good results on unique projects—Rob is historically relevant on older buildings and he has a great repository of knowledge. He has the ability to give you a clear idea of billing procedures, accurate costing, and transparent communications. The whole experience was the most pleasant and transparent process—give Rob the time and he will give you results!”
Christian Booz, Port Hope
We made this replacement casement window in our shop to exactly match an original that had deteriorated. Although it looks just like the original, it features vastly improved weatherstripping. We think it’s pretty nice!
After over 100 years, this front porch was virtually falling off the house! We rebuilt it keeping all of the original details.
This “Townhouse” style commercial building had received some very unflattering facade renovations over the years. Using our expertise in historic masonry repair and window sash making, we completely rebuilt the front to its original look.
